Dear Participants of Bolzano Danza!
This 26th occasion of Bolzano Danza will be especially exciting. Our new, expanded, programme offers many new things for you to discover and the just the right thing you need is sure to be included.
For example Rose Calheiros is bound to thrill the 50-plus dance enthusiasts for the world of Latin Jazz with her Brazilian temperament. This, of course, in no way means that all the classes are not open for all the not so young, For all those who want to feel the depths of their body and their movement the Body-Mind Centering with Lambrini Konstantinou is just the right thing, just as all those who also seek mental calm in movement then Jennifer Mann’s yoga classes are made to measure.
Pilates is perfect for those who wish to concentrate on building their muscles and improving their posture. Dance physician Eileen Wanke joined the Pilates team in 2010 and together with Ulla Wenzel will head this year’s teacher seminar “Early Dance Training/ Spontaneous Dance with Children and Youths".
Every kind of dance tutorship demands experience and knowledge. Thus applies especially to those dances which have not originated in our cultural environment. Our experienced long time assistant professor Amoura Latif will therefore hold a teacher seminar for Oriental dance which will also concentrate on the cultural background of this dance style.
Martin Puttke will present his revolutionary DANAMOS method not only to dance teachers but also demonstrate it in his own classes for youths (!).
(Aspiring) professionals will profit from Svetlana Kusnezova’s classical elegance.
There are also novelties in the Hip Hop scene. With Storm we have acquired a Hip Hop pioneer and Xavier Monreal will offer the first “house”-course in Bolzano. Clemens Adlassnigg will additionally assume the Rhythm lessons and Natalia Viñas Roig will dance modern with the kids. A further novelty of Bolzano Danza will be the presentation of classical Indian dance by Ruta Kambli.
Many of our teachers are qualified in several subjects, e.g. Hilary Neethling and Paul McLinden who have already appeared in our festivals though not in the functions in which they will present themselves this year. Both are not only qualified ballet teachers but also Pilates instructors and will teach both subjects. Modern dance will also be presented by yoga specialists Jennifer Mann and Sharon Booth who also teach the Paul Taylor technique. Gabriele Cupelli for the first time complements our ballet teaching staff and Sam Watson, will help us re-discover the best sides of American jazz! And of course you will again meet your great, popular and experienced veteran teaching team at Bolzano Danza 2010.
Finally we again look forward to Chantal Loîal and her Difé Kako group which will as always enliven not only the courses of Bolzano Danza with their Caribbean temperament but also the whole town with a march and a Bal-Konsér.
